Bio

Ruthanne Duffy serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Operations, Senior Women’s Administrator, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Patrick & Henry Community College. She provides leadership for the daily operations of the athletic department, overseeing budget management, payroll, communications, marketing, and event operations. She also manages NJCAA compliance and oversees student-athlete eligibility while ensuring alignment with institutional, federal, and NJCAA standards.

Duffy supports fundraising and external engagement by collaborating with coaches, alumni, and community partners to strengthen relationships that benefit student-athletes. She implemented a study hall program to enhance academic success and retention and oversees community service initiatives across the department. She also advises the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and contributes to institutional compliance as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Prior to joining Patrick & Henry, Duffy spent a decade at Ferrum College, serving as head volleyball coach from 2015–2022 and assistant coach from 2012–2015, with responsibilities that included athlete development, recruiting, academic monitoring, and program management.

Duffy also brings leadership experience in collegiate summer baseball, serving as assistant general manager and general manager of the Martinsville Mustangs and returning to manage team operations beginning in January 2025. Her work includes oversight of sponsorships, ticketing, staffing, player personnel, game day management, and community relations.

A former student-athlete, Duffy was a starter on a Region XII Championship volleyball team that advanced to the NAIA National Tournament at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in sport management and later completed her M.S. in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the NJCAA Aspiring Leaders Program and serves as an ex-officio member of the NJCAA Division II Baseball Committee.

Duffy and her husband, Matt, live in the Martinsville area with their two children.
