Bio
Brandon Johnson serves as the Director of Athletics and Student Engagement at Patrick & Henry Community College, joining the college in June 2026.
Johnson brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in K–12 education and high school athletics to his first role in collegiate athletics administration. Prior to joining P&HCC, he served as head football coach at Bassett High School, where he oversaw a comprehensive program focused on student development both on and off the field. He also held an administrative role at BHS and has presented at schools and professional development workshops throughout the region.
During his tenure at Bassett, Johnson led the Bengals football program through a period of growth, developing revenue streams, improving athletic facilities, strengthening school culture, and creating opportunities to support students' long-term success.
A lifelong resident of Henry County, Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Guilford College and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Averett University.
In his role at P&HCC, Johnson oversees an athletics department comprising approximately 125 student-athletes across ten men's and women's programs. He leads a program with a strong tradition of conference championships, national tournament appearances, and student-athlete success while working to further strengthen the connection between athletics, student engagement, and the surrounding community.
