Daniel Shines, Qualifies for NJCAA Wrestling National Tournament

SCRANTON, PA -- The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Wrestling program is proud to announce a significant milestone achieved by their 133-pound wrestler, Nick Daniel. At the Gulf Atlantic Districts in Scranton, PA, Nick, who entered the tournament as the 7th seed, showcased an incredible display of skill and determination. Going 5-1, Nick secured a 3rd place finish and earned a spot at the prestigious NJCAA National Tournament in Iowa this March.

Nick's only loss of the day came in a hard-fought match against a Division I transfer from Andrew College. Despite the tough setback, Nick continued to fight with relentless effort, demonstrating the heart and grit that has become a hallmark of the P&HCC wrestling program.

This achievement is especially noteworthy as Nick Daniel becomes only the second wrestler in P&HCC history to place 3rd at the Gulf Atlantic Districts, solidifying his place in the program's history. His performance not only highlights his personal dedication but also exemplifies the hard work and commitment of the entire P&HCC wrestling team.

"Nick's accomplishment is a reflection of the effort, determination, and team spirit that defines us here at P&HCC," said Head Coach Chad Lange. "This is just the beginning, and we're excited to see what Nick and the rest of the team will do as they continue to represent the PHamily at the NJCAA National Championships."

Looking ahead, Nick Daniel is now preparing for the 2025 NJCAA Men's Wrestling Championships, scheduled to take place on March 7-8 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA.
