Sandhills Defeats P&HCC 100-94 in Close Region 10 Basketball Matchup

MARTINSVILLE, VA – On Thursday, February 13, the Patrick & Henry Community College Patriots faced off against the Sandhills Community College Flyers in a highly competitive Region 10 Division III contest. The Flyers emerged victorious, winning 100-94 in a back-and-forth battle. The loss drops the Patriots to 5-2 in conference play, while Sandhills improves to 7-1 in Region 10 Division III.

Patrick & Henry had strong contributions across the board, with Caleb Jenkins finishing with 17 points, including 9 in the first half and 8 in the second. Kam Rodriguez added 22 points, with 9 in the opening half and 13 in the second. Freshman Aaron Coleman led the team in the first half, scoring 15 points, and finished with a total of 22.

Despite the strong individual performances, Sandhills was led by Damien Robinson, who finished with 39 points, including 15 in the first half and 24 in the second. Sandhills outscored the Patriots 61-45 in the second half to secure the win.

With the victory, Sandhills takes the top spot in Region 10 Division III, while Patrick & Henry remains in second place. Both teams continue to compete for regional dominance as the season progresses.

The Patriots will look to bounce back on Saturday, February 15, when they play Virginia Peninsula Community College on the road at the SafeHaven Empowerment Center at 3:00 PM. Patrick & Henry will return home for a 7:00 PM game on Tuesday, February 18, against Central International College, which will also serve as the team's Sophomore Night.
