Softball’s Carola Named NJCAA D3 Player of the Week

MARTINSVILLE, VA -- Patrick & Henry Community College freshman Lily Carola wasted no time making her mark on collegiate softball, and the NJCAA took notice. Carola has been named the NJCAA DIII Softball Player of the Week after a jaw-dropping debut performance.

In her first-ever collegiate at-bat, Carola delivered in grand fashion—literally—launching a no-doubt Grand Slam against Gaston College, a nationally ranked NJCAA Division I program. Her clutch power at the plate set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season for the Patriots.

"Lily stepped into the box with confidence and made an immediate statement," said P&H Head Softball Coach Roger Campbell. "To hit a grand slam in your first collegiate at-bat, and against that level of competition, is something special. She's worked hard, and we're thrilled to see her recognized on the national stage."

Carola's honor marks another milestone for the P&H softball program as it continues to compete at the highest level. With her powerful presence in the lineup, the Patriots are eager to keep the momentum rolling
