Men's Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

MARTINSVILLE, VA -- Fresh off a Region 10 championship, the Patrick & Henry men's soccer team has released its schedule for the 2023 fall season which features 14 regular season contests along with four exhibition contests.

Under head coach Brennan Murphy, the schedule is broken down into nine non-conference matches and five conference matches.

"Our coaching staff is extremely excited for this group of incoming student-athletes and the core group of returners that we have from last season," said Murphy. "It will be a decisive rebuilding year as we replace a lot of valuable character and experience, however we are truly excited to see who rises to the occasion. It is an extremely tough out-of-conference schedule and as always, a gauntlet in Region 10. We are just really excited and motivated for the season to come."

The regular season begins on Thursday, August 24th, as the Patriots will host the Ferrum College Panthers. Patrick & Henry will also welcome non-league opponents Carolina Christian (Aug. 27), and burgeoning new program, Pellissippi State (Sep. 27) to the Monogram Foods Smith River Sports Complex.

P&HCC's road schedule features showdowns against last year's nationally ranked Parkland Community College (Aug. 31) and Heartland Community College (Sep. 2) in Chicago, Ill. Additionally, the Patriots will travel to formerly nationally ranked CCBC Essex (Sep. 10), Johnson & Wales Charlotte (Oct. 7), and Pellissippi State (Oct. 21).

Action in the Region 10 Conference will begin on September 15th, when the Patriots host Louisburg College in Martinsville. Patrick & Henry will also welcome Cape Fear (Oct. 2), and Wake Tech (Oct. 11) to Monogram Foods Smith River Sports Complex.

For road Region 10 matches, the Patriots will visit Cape Fear (Sep. 22), Wake Tech (Sep. 30), and Louisburg (Oct. 16).

On top of the regular season schedule, Patrick & Henry will have four preseason exhibitions against the University of Virginia Cavaliers (seven NCAA Division I Titles) in Charlottesville, Virginia, Lindsey Wilson College (nine NAIA National Titles) in Columbia, Kentucky, Bluefield College Rams (NAIA) at home in Martinsville, Virginia, and Montreat College (NAIA) in Montreat, North Carolina.
