RECAP: P&H Men's Golf Opens Competition at Central Carolina CC

This week, the Patrick & Henry Community College golf team faced its first competition of the season. The college's four person team traveled to Quail Ridge Golf Course in Sanford, North Carolina for the match which was hosted by Central Carolina Community College. 

On day one, the competitors battled winds of up to 16 mph. In the face of this added challenge, the Patriots finished the day with a total of 412 points. 

Despite continued windy conditions for day two, the Patriots rose to the challenge improving by forty shots and finishing the day with 372 points. 

Cameron Robertson led the team with 89-84 = 173. Kolby Brown had an 85 on day two improving his day one score by eight shots. Lincoln Rose had a stellar front nine of 43 on his way to an eighteen-stroke improvement on day two. Freshman golfer Carter Grandinetti showed many signs of future potential during this match which was his first collegiate golf event. 

Despite strong resilience from the Patriots, Sandhills Community College took the victory with a two-day score of 301-303 = 604. Austin Wood of SCC took top honors with a 75-72 = 147. 

The Patriots return to action on March 21-22 at the Longleaf Golf Course in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
