Dear PHAMILY,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our Patriot Athletics PHAMILY!  Here at Patrick & Henry Community College, we have Men’s/Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Men’s/Women’s Soccer, Wrestling, Cross Country, Track & Field, and Golf that compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association.  We also offer club programs of Esports, Cheerleading, Bass Fishing, and Dance.  PHCC Athletics generally averages around 175 student-athletes a year from near and far.  This includes many internationals representing various countries including but not limited to Australia, England, Nigeria, Sweden, Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Mexico.

In the classroom, our student-athletes continue to perform off the court and fields, posting solid grade point averages each semester.  Several Patriots are named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, which represents student-athletes with a 3.5-3.9 gpa. Not only are PHCC student-athletes committed to their work in competition and in the classroom, but each team has made it a priority to give back to our community. This includes efforts such as PHCC Athletics Education Day, Special Olympics Baseball Game, United Way Day of Action, Snow Creek Elementary School PTO Donation in Franklin County, Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, Pumpkin Patch for Grace Network, PHCC Athletics Trunk or Treat, Give Hope Donation of Sports Equipment, PHCC School Supplies, and T-shirts, and Black History Month at GW Carver Elementary School.

How is all of this accomplished? Along with talented coaches, student-athletes and volunteer staff, we have remained committed to providing opportunities to enhance the physical, social and emotional well-being of the entire campus community. I also can’t speak enough about how much external support from family and friends contributes to the success of our teams.
As we have seen over the years, projects such as upgrading Martin Field along with renovating the clubhouse at Hooker Field provide our student-athletes with some of the best facilities at our level and in our region. Outside financial support from the PHCC Foundation has also allowed us to enhance the student-athlete experience in a variety of ways, including out-of-region travel opportunities, new uniforms and training equipment, and improved transportation and lodging. This type of support is vital to the success of our teams.

In order to maintain the momentum we have created, we will continue to need your help. This is an extraordinary time in Patriot Athletics history and for the entire PHCC community. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it all and I can’t begin to express how much pride I have in all that we have achieved. I simply cannot wait to begin the new year and get to work on the next chapter for PHCC Athletics and PHAMILY. Thank you for your support and GO PATS!!!
Sincerely,

B.H.
