P&HCC Basketball Dominates Oxford-Emory in 82-67 Victory
OXFORD, GA – The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Patriots delivered a strong performance on the road, securing an 82-67 victory over Oxford-Emory secure first place in the conference standings. The win improves P&HCC's record to 13-8 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
The Patriots exploded out of the gate, scoring 42 first-half points, their best opening half of the season. Sophomore Ian Goings (Columbia, SC) led the charge, pouring in 18 points in the first half and finishing with a game-high 25 points. Fellow sophomore Kam Rodriguez (Sumter, SC) added 17 points, while freshman forward Aaron Coleman (Sumter, SC) contributed 18 points, including 12 in the second half.
Despite a 17-point effort from Ved Desai of Oxford-Emory, the Eagles struggled to keep pace after managing just 27 first-half points. P&HCC's defensive intensity and offensive efficiency secured the comfortable win.
Head Coach Dan Milloy, in his first season leading the Patriots, credited his team's fast start and overall execution:
"This was probably the best start we have had all year! I'm proud of our guys and their effort on both ends of the floor. We definitely have things we need to clean up. All in all, it was a great team win! Now we prepare for the next game!"
The Patriots will look to continue their momentum on Wednesday, February 12, at home against Sandhills Community College. The Region 10 Division 3 matchup tips off at 6:00 PM.
